HOUSE, Small For Cheap

Driven by his love of his vintage magazine collection, photographer, Mark Vessey became interested in the concept of personal collections. His work involves photographing neatly–stacked journals, LPs and even vodka bottles to capture the aesthetic beauty and joy of owning a collection.

My work is about trying to establish a sense of order. There is comfort in collecting things, studying things that people take for granted, grouping everyday objects in such a way that they become something special, seeing how they fit together to become a thing of great beauty.

In this piece, Vessey turns his attention to records that have provided the soundtrack to many a house party, including absolute classics from the likes of Robin S, Todd Terry and Adamski.
