This print is one of the first pieces in Pure Evil s famous Nightmare series, which depicts celebrities crying as an illustration of the heartbreak and sadness we ve all experienced in relationships in the past.
The collection was sparked by an email that Pure Evil received from a Chinese business offering to reproduce artworks by prevalent artists, including Andy Warhol. The notion that Warhol s entire artistic career could be distilled into three thumbnails of Jackie Kennedy, Liz Taylor and an electric chair, became the inspiration for these doomed celebrity portraits.
This print features actress Elizabeth Taylor, who married eight times, twice of which to her co-star, Richard Burton. Their relationship is considered one of the greatest love stories of our time.
The print is from a limited edition of 100, signed and numbered by the artist.
