Gjoen s evocative work treads a fascinating line between humour and horror. By transforming items typically associated with violence into delicate works of art, Gjoen challenges our preconceived notions of beauty.
Here, Gjoen turns his macabre eye to the son of Venus and God of Love, Cupid. The piece depicts the ordinarily cherubic god as a skeleton, clutching a broken heart in his hands.
This archival print is hand-finished with watercolours. From a limited edition of 150, the piece is signed and numbered by the artist.
