Contemporary artist, Mark Powell creates intricate hand-drawn portraits on found antique documentation using just a standard Bic Biro.

This piece depicts African American writer, James Baldwin, on the pages of a map of the USA. The artwork is named after a famous quote from his second novel, Giovanni s Room. Despite being released back in 1956, the novel is lauded for empathetically bringing the complexities of homosexuality and bisexuality into the public discourse.

From a limited edition of 10, the piece is signed and numbered by the artist.
