Magnus Gjoen s evocative work treads a fascinating line between humour and horror. By transforming items typically associated with violence into delicate works of art, Gjoen challenges our preconceived notions of beauty.
Gjoen has released Vive Le Roi, which translates as ‘long live the King’, to coincide with the Coronation of King Charles.
This is the latest in a series of works created by Gjoen in which he applies delicate porcelain designs to lethal weapons, including grenades and machine guns. In applying the royal crest, Gjoen encourages us to consider the good and bad sides of the monarchy.
This giclée print is from a limited edition of 100, signed and numbered by the artist. The piece is available in three different colourways.
