Three Black Flowers, May 1986 is a homemade print executed on an office colour copy machine by iconic British artist, David Hockney.

This piece is from Hockney s Home Made Prints collection, which was born from his fascination with the newly-invented photocopier back in the 80s, and his desire to see how far he could push their printing capacities. His curiosity led him to discover that textures could be sharpened if an image was printed one layer at a time, rather than in one go as the machines are intended.

Each piece in the series is printed by Hockney himself. From a limited edition of 50, the piece is framed in a white frame, and comes signed and numbered by the artist.
