The Cowboy Quit Smoking is comprised of vintage magazine clippings of cigarette adverts from the 1950s-1980s, in which Marlboro used the narrative of a smoking cowboy to promote their brand.

In the piece, Rose explores how Marlboro became synonymous with the American ideal, and how something so terrible for our health became a staple in every American home. 

The Cowboy Quit Smoking is a limited giclee print hand-finished with spray paint and gold leaf. From a small edition of 20, the piece is signed and numbered by the artist.
