Takashi Murakami is an acclaimed artist heralded as Japan’s answer to Andy Warhol.   Best known for his smiley flowers, his ‘superflat’ theory of art combines Japan’s love for cuteness with its traditional artistic styles and aesthetics. 

That Sounds Good, I Hope You Can Do It brings together Murakami’s signature happy flowers with characters from classic manga cartoon, Doraemon.

The piece continues Murakami’s career-long exploration of how Japanese culture uses bright colours and innocent characters to mask the collective trauma experienced following Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

This screenprint in colours with cold stamped gold foil is from a limited edition of 300, signed and numbered by the artist.
