Maria Rivans is a Brighton-based artist known for richly-collaged images of vintage Hollywood starlets.
Stella is from Rivans’ coveted Pin-ups series. It depicts Italian actress, Sophia Loren, in her role as Stella in the 1958 war film, The Key.
By bringing together the human form with elements from the natural world, Rivans creates modern-day goddesses, with the elements of the headdress chosen to symbolise hope, change and new beginnings.
This giclée and silkscreen print with black glitter gloss and spot varnishes is from a hand-finished limited edition of 11, signed and numbered by the artist.
