Haus Of Lucy, AKA Lucy Bryant, is a contemporary artist who appropriates found objects and images, and slips in quirky nods to contemporary culture.
Explaining Sam Skates, Lucy tells us:
Sam had learned to skate at such a young age that she had earned the nickname Sam Skates and wouldn t answer to anything else (except when she was in trouble and her Mum called her Samantha). She worked hard on the family farm, using her trusty skateboard to transport heavy milk churns, baskets of eggs and bales of hay around the estate. And when she wasn t working, she could be found practicing for the village talent fair where she intended to wow them with her myriad of skateboard tricks, hopefully netting her first prize of a year s supply of jam. This hand-finished original piece is created from polymer clay, ceramic paint, photographic paper, fingerboard and varnish. It comes signed by the artist.Â
