Pure Evil aka Charles Uzzell Edwards is a street artist inspired by Californian graffiti from the 90s and street art from the 00s. From his early graffiti-tag bunnies to his tragic celebrity iconography, Pure Evil uses his art to reflect the darkness of the contemporary world.  

In Sad Marilyn, Pure Evil portrays Hollywood icon, Marilyn Monroe – arguably the most famous actress of all time, known for her roles in such classics as Some Like It Hot and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.  

The artwork is prime example of Pure Evil’s macabre fascination with the culture of celebrity and how achieving global notoriety comes with many dark sides.
