Prelude is an intricate study of the tools used by violin makers. The artist explains: ‘With these pieces I wanted to record every detail – the smudges of paint, the fingerprints, the scratches and scrapes – the life story of implements that without such, there would be no music to hear.’
The original drawing is on 100% unbleached cotton paper. It has deckled edges and comes float mounted in a black frame, signed and numbered by the artist.Â
