My Uzi Weighs A Ton, Ultra Black is a 3D-printed sculpture by street artist, Aroe.

The Uzi is a recurring motif across the artist’s oeuvre, despite the fact he abhors guns. He explains:

‘Because of the era I got into graffiti, it was really popular to take a character and give them a fat gold chain and shoes with big laces. I hate guns, they’re disgusting, but they’ve always been a joke in my work – I paint a portrait of something and then I give it an Uzi, so that everyone knows I’ve done it.’

The original piece stands 18cm tall, and is painted with ultra-black paint – a shade of black, originally created for military use, that absorbs 99% of light that hits it, making any surface it’s painted with appear totally flat.
