Back in the 2000s, Peter Blake created a series of paintings in homage to artist and writer, Marcel Duchamp. The paintings imagined Duchamp in a variety of unusual situations, including playing chess with Tracey Emin and hanging out with the Spice Girls.
This piece is one third of Blake s latest collection depicting the artist for Marcel Duchamp s World Tour. Each artwork imagines his subject attending three fantastical events during a stay in Blackpool.
In this artwork, Blackpool s Tower Ballroom is packed to the rafters with a weird and wonderful band of revellers, including clowns, wizards, and mermaids.
The print is part of a limited edition of 100, signed by the artist.
