Conor Murgatroyd is a Bradford-born artist, known for painting still life pieces and distinctly-British landscapes, inspired by a mix of past events, wistful memories, emotions and pure imagination.

In this original piece, Murgatroyd creates a still life piece inspired by the 1963 novel by Barry Hines, A Kestrel for a Knave. Based in Murgatroyd s home county of Yorkshire, the story follows a boy who finds solace from his difficult life while training a kestrel.
