Gavin Mitchell is a London-based artist who reworks found objects using photography, collage and print, to explore the relationship between East and West.
This piece is from Mitchell’s Fourth Wall series, in which he creates new narratives by juxtaposing vintage postcards with black and white film stills from classic B-movies of the fifties and sixties.
In Heart of New York, Mitchell expertly combines a still of a chief watching a caravan of travellers wind through the desert with a hyper-real postcard of Times Square.
This pigment print with UV varnish is from a limited edition of 15, signed and numbered by the artist.
