London based artist, Boo Saville has combined her catalogue of experience across drawings, prints, photography and paintings to produce her newest multi layered archival pigment print, named after a mathematical function which enables a balanced distribution of random variables, Gaussian .
Saville uses the same process to design the compositions as she does with her paintings. Creating layers of colour in Photoshop before overlapping them to build abstract colour blends.
I have been out walking a lot during lockdown and starting in the studio very early. The shifts of light as dawn breaks inspired this work. The way we can look to nature and to our environment at times of stress. To look and wonder to something larger than oneself has helped me through difficult times. This is my attempt at bringing some of that outside in and to embrace the ambiguity and randomness of the world. Boo Savillle
