This piece is from Richard Berner’s 2023 solo show at Enter Gallery, You Can Be Anything (*or Nothing). The show is an exploration of the ambiguity of art and its capacity to mean everything to one person, and absolutely nothing to the next.

In this piece, Berner depicts a death’s-head hawkmoth via his cast of champs. These insects are seen as both a positive and negative omen, suggesting incoming opportunities or a warning for the future.
