Elvis First Photo, 1954 Silver Heart is a limited-edition silkscreen print with a stencil spray paint layer by contemporary artist Pure Evil (aka Charles Uzzell). The piece depicts a photo of Elvis, in traditional halftone dots.
The original image appeared in a memorial issue newspaper published in Elvis hometown of Memphis, Tennessee the week he died. Under Presley s left eye, the artist has added his signature tear drop, welling in the shape of a love-heart and spilling down the print in a heart-breaking tribute to The King.
Known for covering city streets with his iconic graffiti-tag bunnies, Pure Evil is a master of contemporary urban art. His limited-edition prints, featuring crying cultural icons from Marilyn Monroe to Sharon Tate to Andy Warhol, are instantly recognisable, gathering a cult following and a collectable status.
From a limited edition of 100, each print is hand signed and numbered by the artist.
Please note: Prints will vary slightly as each piece is a hand pulled screen print.
