In Big Blue Bombom, London-based artist Lucie Bennett continues her series featuring large-scale derrieres. It follows in the wake of the success of Big Pink Bum, released in 2020.
As with its predecessor, this piece is a celebration of the behind , inspired by oversized works by artists such as Oldenburg and Newton.
Colour plays an important role in Bennett s work and she spends time carefully selecting the perfect palette for each print. Her inspiration for the background colour was vanilla ice-cream, referencing the beach and sunnier climes, and the turquoise was chosen to summon the idea of crystal waters.
This silkscreen print is from a limited edition of 15, signed and numbered by the artist.
