Since the genesis of his career back in the 1950s, Peter Blake has exhibited his captivation with typography, and for the found lettering that we see brought together in this series – another of his admired alphabet collections.

Alphabet: The Letter Z is fashioned from found images of the letter Z, sourced from Blake s extensive collection of Victorian and Edwardian graphic illustrations, children s books, vintage postcards and more. The playful result is a nod to the nostalgia and childhood innocence that characterises much of Blake s work.

From a limited edition of 60 silkscreen prints, Alphabet: The Letter Z is signed by the artist.
