After Dark on Sale

After Dark is an original artwork from legendary Brighton-based graffiti artist, Aroe.

The piece hails from Aroe’s 2021 Build and Destroy series, a collection of originals, prints and sculptures inspired by the impermanent nature of graffiti, and the never-ending dance between artist and the authorities. 

After Dark is created using spray paint and ultra-black paint on board, to create the unusual shapes that frame and accentuate the piece. Originally created for military use, ultra-black paint is designed to absorb 99% of light, making any surface it’s used on appear completely flat.
