75 Years of The Beano Hot on Sale

Peter Blake produced this piece in collaboration with The Beano, in honour of the 75^{th anniversary of the comic that gave us Dennis the Menace and friends.}

The piece focuses on the Bash Street Kids, who George Moonie (the original Beano editor), created after watching children emerge from Dundee High School, just outside his office window.

To recreate the view, Blake has superimposed images of the Bash Street Kids and other Beano favourites onto a vintage postcard of the school. The illustrations chosen are both old and new versions of the characters, showing how much The Beano has developed in 75 years.

From a limited edition of 175, the piece is signed and numbered by the artist.
