50 Spaces is a 24-colour silkscreen print by lauded British artist, Rachel Whiteread. The artwork was created when Whiteread, along with seven leading international artists, was commissioned to produce a unique piece to honour 21 years of the Tate.
In this piece, Whiteread presents the underside of various chairs, each in delicate semi-transparent pastel paints. The artwork is a continuation of one of the artist s most well-known sculptures, a piece called Untitled (One Hundred Spaces).Â
From a limited edition of 300, the piece is signed, titled and numbered by the artist.
