Amazonia Forest is an original piece created especially for Magnus Gjoen’s 2022 solo show at Enter Gallery, ‘The History of the Future’ – an exploration of life, love, death and art.
Seemingly drawn directly from an archaeological site, Amazonia Forest is covered in camouflage, alluding to the need to protect and hide these treasures to preserve them for future generations.
Gold is used to highlight the correlation between money and war, and the threat that war and conflict poses to our art and our history.
This original piece is created with archival inks and acrylic on birch plywood. The piece is signed by the artist.
