This original artwork has been created especially for The Mix – Enter Gallery’s 2024 group show of original artworks from a selection of our artists.  

Mateo Humano is an internationally-acclaimed French artist based in Montreal. In his ‘monologues of the soul’, Mateo uses the intricate patterns of ornamental carpets to create peaceful works honouring women and ancient cultures.  

In Acute, Mateo portrays his subject from two angles, alluding to the complexities that exist within us all. Via clever placement of the patterns in the carpet, Mateo urges us to consider the depth of our minds, the power of imagination, and the beauty that can come from looking within.   

Acute is an original artwork created with spray paint and acrylic paint on an ornamental Turkish rug. It comes signed by the artist. 

Please note this piece is framed in a 25mm black box frame with a black float and clear colour glass.
