Bruce McLean is a leading figure in the development of 1960s conceptual art. He is credited with breaking down the rigidity of visual art, loosening traditional forms into abstractions that celebrate the natural world.  

Wild Hot Autumn is another of McLean’s celebrated garden paintings, this time capturing the life of his Spanish garden in warm autumnal shades.  

The striking original piece combines vibrant shades of red, yellow and black, hinting at both warming sunshine and the evolving life cycle of the plants, shrubs and blossoms that populate his Menorcan garden.
