While Pure Evil has stated that his moniker is a bit of a joke , he has never shied away from the dark subject matter that the name allows him to explore, and this piece is a prime example of him probing those darker corners of society.
In Live East Die Young, Pure Evil draws attention to East London s Murder Mile, a stretch of road in Hackney given this nickname due to the high number of murders committed in the area.
By including a nod to the saying Live Fast Die Young and utilising a letter type press print, reminiscent of a poster likely to be found in the Wild West, Pure Evil comments on the senseless deaths of young people in the same London Borough as his gallery is located.
This print has deckled edges. It is from a limited edition of 50, signed by the artist.
