Wall Art III is a limited edition lithograph and silkscreen print by contemporary British artist Rose Blake.
Wall Art III fuses the figurative and the abstract in a compact, twelve-frame grid series. Working in red ink, Blake s print elevates the status of the doodle to the realm of abstract art. Each freehand sketch is a clever illusion of real-life representation: this is almost a series of figurative depictions, but no one ever quite matches up to reality.
Blake has said: I basically spent a week at The Curwen Studio experimenting with ways of mark making within lithography, and we made the three editions in the process. I didn t want to be too precious about what I made in the week, as I really wanted to test the process, so I set myself this grid of frames to work in, and then just starting playing with abstract shapes and textures within them.
Wall Art III is from a limited edition of 50, hand signed and numbered by the artist.
