Singaporean artist, Cassandra Yap is known for her surreal pieces, that combine the magnificent with the macabre to create artworks with impact.
From a distance, Deliverance may appear to be a depiction of a typical butterfly, but take a step closer and things become decidedly darker. Yap uses skulls and black and white imagery sourced from vintage erotica to create the patterns adorning the butterfly s wings.
To craft this delicate piece of work, Yap applies the foil by hand to create a slightly-distressed effect that is unique to each piece. From a limited edition of 50, Deliverance is signed by the artist.
