Mark Powell is a Brighton and London-based artist who creates unbelievably intricate hand-drawn portraits on antique documentation using nothing but a standard Bic Biro.
In this piece, Powell draws civil rights campaigner, Martin Luther King, against a background of the American flag.
The drawing is done on the pages of King’s fourth book – the last before his assassination – which advocated for human rights and hope.
This is a bespoke framed original drawing completed on the pages of the 1969 book. It is finished with matt varnish and UV protective spray, and comes signed by the artist.
