Stanley Donwood is an English writer and artist, best known for creating album artwork for all of Radiohead’s records. Cerne Abbas hails from his Modern Landscapes exhibition, which took place at the Saatchi Gallery in 2022.

The show featured drawings and sacred landscape paintings created especially for Glastonbury Festival. Each piece was based on the cartographical and topological forms of mysterious sites around the UK, including Stonehenge and Wayland’s Smithy.

This piece is a colourful interpretation of Cerne Abbas, a village located in Dorset overlooked by an 180ft chalk figure of a naked man, said to date back to AD 700.

The nine-colour silkscreen print with varnish overlay is from a limited edition of 33, signed and numbered by the artist.
