Mixed-media artist, Mark Davies is known for creating striking compositions which apply his own narrative to that of beloved movies, fairy tales and fiction. Inspired by the likes of Hans Christian Andersen and The Brothers Grimm, Davies likes to err on the side of the sinister, composing his pieces to further explore the darker themes underlying the stories we cherish.
It’s A Deal, It’s A Steal takes on iconic Guy Ritchie gangster flick, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Reminiscent of Davies’ The Memory Remains pieces, this gritty street scene is littered with references to the movie – some easy to place, some that might take a little more thought.
